As I shuffled through my online social networks I had the pleasure to zone out to this soulful/jazzy record by Supnater. A gifted young man based out of Lawrence MA. who has worked on various independent mixtapes, “The coffee shop” and “Bonsai” just to name a few. I have had the pleasure of meeting this talented young man and I have to admit, his talent is something that I would enjoy more of in todays industry. On his most recent record ”Elixir (summer love therapy) produced by: Steve Cool”, It sets a magical tone through the spacey melodies and chill chorus for these summer days. As Supnater manages to paint vivid pictures of what a beautiful summer day accompanied by a lovely female would be like. His lyrical content lacks ignorance and speaks truth with his own sense of originality, and minus the need to blend in with the rest of the industry. 9.19.2011 World Soul artist Jesse Boykins iii at highland ballroom after his performance for the “new school jazz at 25” event. I became an instant fan of his sound when i first heard ” Amorous” off of his sophomore album, “The beauty created”. His music is some of best soulful sounds Ive heard in a while. If i had to describe his sound of world soul I would need a blender and mix some of the greatest soul artists from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. He’s got a unique and eclectic vision that sounds so right. I look forward to listening to his future sounds and what he will come out with next. So if you don’t know get on your job!
